Sorry I'm behind by a a week again, but we were so busy with all the wedding prep…but now we're married ♥♥♥ Mr. and Mrs. O'Connor and little baby O'Connor, our little Mountain Family :) I'm so happy and the day was just so amazing. It was everything I had hoped of. It was really nice to celebrate on a small scale with close family members there. Everybody helped out and I felt it brought the whole family closer together. Tommy's mom Helen and sister Kristen did a wonderful job with the flower arrangements and the cake. It was even matching our invitations! Kristen did an amazing job doing my hair and make-up. It really blew me away and I looked more beautiful than I had imagined. Tommy even teared up when he saw me walking down the stairs in my wedding dress for the first time. I know he's gonna kill me for writing this…. but I've never seen him tear up or cry about anything ever before ;) We had the ceremony outside in Tommy's Grandma's beautiful backyard. We read our own vows which made the ceremony even more special and memorable. It was just hard for me to get through it, since I cried the entire time while trying to read my vow. The weather was perfect, sunny but not too hot and it was really nice to be able to celebrate outside surrounded by family and especially Tommy's Grandma, who we really wanted to be part of our special day. I just wish my family from Germany could have been there as well, but at least we'll get to do it all over again in September with everybody being there…including our little mountain baby :)
How far along? 24 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 16 lbs. +
Maternity clothes? yup
Sleep: Pretty good
Miss Anything? same as before
Movement: I feel him move around all the time now. It's a lot stronger, so even Tommy can feel him now when he puts his hand on my belly. It's such an amazing feeling :)
Food cravings: Still hungry ALL THE TIME! And I'm craving sweet stuff although I'm usually not big on eating candy.
Tommy has a big sweet tooth so he think it's very obvious that it's his child, since he turned me into a sweet tooth as well. He just complained that I eat all his cookies and chocolate now, all the stuff that I wouldn't have touched before I got pregnant. haha.
Anything making you queasy or sick: nope
Symptoms: growing belly
Mood: Happy
Energy: feeling great, lots of energy, sleep well and don't have any pain or complains ….well just yet. I'm sure it'll hit me later.
Looking forward to: setting up the nursery. We've already got so much clothes! My sister send my a bunch of stuff from Germany, my sister-in-law Karon gave us three bags full of newborn clothes since her baby boy already grew out of it. And then my mother-in-law Helen and sister-in-law Kristen also went shopping and got a him bunch of baby clothes. I think our unborn baby boy has already more clothes than Tommy and I ;)
Favorite Moment: Listing to Tommy talk about how excited he was to get married. He kept counting the hours to the ceremony :) Afterwards he kept showing off his ring while saying "I'm married now". So cute! He calls me "beautiful wife" and even saved me in his phone under this name. That just makes my heart melt. We're a real family now and hearing him talk about how excited he is to be officially married and start our own family, just makes me indescribably happy. I know he's going to be an amazing father. Listening to his vow during the wedding ceremony, he pointed out how he wants our family to treat each other and what he thought we needed to do to create this family. He talked about the very first time we told each other our love, where we also made the simple promise to be always be good to each other. Although we had our differences since then we've always kept that promise. He said that he hoped that if we pass on one thing to our family, it would be that promise that we made that night…to always be good to each other. I'm sure it won't always be easy and I'm sure we don't even grasp the extend of what it means to raise a family yet, but I know we will both do whatever we can to make this work and always treat each other and our family with love and respect.
